City of Louisville Announcements
Heritage Tourism
The Louisville Development Authority, an agency of City Government, has retained a consultant specializing in historic preservation to examine the potential for tourism and related economic development in the Portland neighborhood. The study is the first of a possible series that will gauge the extent of heritage tourism as an element of Louisville's current tourism and identify potential themes and areas for further planning and development. Elizabeth Watson of John Milner Associates, a Philadelphia-based firm, is leading the study, which is expected to provide recommendations and preliminary guidance for developing a city-wide heritage development initiative in the future. You are invited to attend Ms. Watson's presentation of findings and recommendations on September 5 at 6 p.m.This meeting is still tentative, so anyone interested in attending should check in with the Strategic Planning office (574-2336) closer to the date of the event to confirm that it's on.
