Puddings

Traditional southern pudding recipes.  The source of these recipes is the Kentucky Receipt Book, published in 1903.  The author is Mary Harris Frazer.  They would have been familiar to the early residents of Old Louisville

 

Blackberry Pudding.

One and one-half cups of flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, cup of butter, 1 cup of jam, 4 eggs, 2 teaspoons baking powder, flavor with nutmeg and cinnamon. Cook in baking dish. Serve with a rich sauce.
