Notes. We think there is a possibility of another address mystery here, since Mr. Richardson is is listed variously both here and at 1395. However, this house is obviously earlier than 1911, so we think that the earlier attributions to 1395 also referred to this house. What's not explained is that one person we asked remembers two 3-story buildings on the site of the Scheler's Market and parking lot (1395-99 today). Without photos of the original buildings it's tough make an educated guess on the addresses. The original building(s) there burned around the 1970s or maybe early 1980s. The last use was as a bar named the Ratskeller, which had become a rowdy biker's hangout and was considered a nuisance by some. That may have had something to do with the fire.
