The bell tower is a (very) few years newer than the rest of the Louisville City Hall.
The original burned early. The building is a blend of predominantly Italianate and
French Second Empire architecture. Close up, you can still see many fascinating
ornaments and stone carvings relating to local industry and agriculture.Speaking of bell towers, the tower of the old Fire station is clearly visible behind City Hall.
Though the fire station is still standing, the bell tower was removed years ago.
