"Central Park, Louisville KY"
Post card mailed 1917
This
view near the present day entrance to St. James Court shows the walk,
perimeter hedge and a hint of the homes along Fourth Avenue in the
background.
Mailed
to Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 10, 1917, to a family with a German
surname, the message on the back reveals some interesting "current
events" of the time:
"Dear
Sis and bro-in-law
"Got your letter this AM. Wasn't much surprised about dad. He wouldn't
have good health if he didn't jaw at someone. He doesn't worry me a
little bit. Just so mother and the kids get along. I am glad he hasn't
got me to tell his troubles. Tell him I am going after his friend the Kaiser
next Tuesday. Sure am going to get him so he had better bid him
farewell . . ."
