The gilded former Main Dining Room was in the area that now
houses the "Old Seelbach Bar," just off the lobby. Today, the
main dining room is in the "Oak Room" on the mezzanine, which
was designed as the hotel's billiard parlor. Unfortunately, we do
not yet have any vintage views of the Oak Room, a full-paneled
room with secret doors leading to some of the many secret passageways
throughout the hotel. No wonder that this hotel was once a favorite of
gangsters such as Al Capone.
