Norton Hall Architecturally, Louisville's Broadway was once an avenue to compare favorably with many of the grand avenues of the great cities of the world. Monumental architecture in the form of public buildings and handsome residences lined the street. Now, planners are trying to come up with ways to beautify a street that has essentially become an eyesore. Bus Station |
Norton Hall of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (built 1895) was razed to make way for a bus station. The art deco building (which had some merits in its own right-below) was razed when a new bus station opened in the 1970s, leaving a vacant lot. The land occupied by the seminary and the Warren Memorial is now a car dealership. |
