John grew up in Columbia,
South Carolina, where he graduated from Irmo High School. After high
school, John moved to the rolling hills of Central Kentucky to attend Centre
College. Upon graduation from Centre in 1990, John began working on his
goal of being a true Louisvillian. Upon moving to the River City, he
worked at odd jobs such as parking lot attendant, deputy County Clerk, and
warehouse security guard. After months of searching, he landed a
"real job" managing commercial real estate. While working from
1991 to 1994, John obtained his Masters in Business Administration from
Bellarmine College, and then moved on to Case Western Reserve University School
of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his J.D. Having tired of
being a student, John has now settled into the practice of law with Schiller,
Osbourn & Barnes, where he works in the areas of litigation and business
transactions.
When not practicing law, John enjoys working on renovation projects around the house (which so far have been limited to stripping paint from various pieces of woodwork), studying the life of Abraham Lincoln, and pondering how much longer Sophie will continue to grow.
